Il GRIN a Lucca

Un grazie con tutto il cuore agli organizzatori del Lucca Digital Photo Fest !!!
Nella straordinaria cornice del centro Agorà di Lucca il 6 dicembre alle 17,30 Enrico Stefanelli, direttore artistico del LDPF ed io abbiamo parlato di progetti e di lavori fotografici. Più in dettaglio ho raccontato il GRIN, la storia del nostro Premio Amilcare Ponchielli e l’edizione di quest’anno, sostenuta alla grande da Unicredit e Fnac e risultato della ricerca di tanti photoeditor che hanno raccolto e visionato 130 progetti fotografici, specchio della realtà fotografica contemporanea. Stefanelli ha sottolineato la sinergia Festival di Lucca e GRIN che da quest’anno si è rafforzata unendosi anche a Territoires de Fictions per offrire l’opportunità al vincitore del nostro Premio di produrre un Pom (piccolo oggetto multimediale) e di esporlo durante il Festival. E intanto il primo Pom intitolato CHINAFRICA di Paolo Woods era già in bella mostra nello spazio delle Ex Manifatture Tabacchi.
Stefanelli ha presentato poi quel premio colossale che è il World Press Photo (2008). E gettando uno sguardo alle nuove frontiere dei linguaggi della fotografia ha proiettato il lavoro in video sull’Afganistan di Balazs Gardi, fotografo ungherese freelance, uno dei vincitori del World Press Photo 2008. E’ un nuovo tipo di assignement del New York Times che chiede oggi ai fotoreporter di montare una sequenza fotografica, in questo caso sul conflitto in corso, aggiungendo alle immagini anche i suoni e i rumori che rimbombano “sul campo”.
Straordinario e epico anche il progetto di Brent Stirton “Tribes of the Omo Valley” proiettato in questo contesto.
