Muore Fabio Polenghi
Fabio Polenghi aveva l’aspetto di ragazzo, con un garbo e una pacatezza particolari e un grande rispetto per gli altri.
Fabio sapeva all’occorrenza fotografare il glamour per Vogue, pur prediligendo indagare in profondità situazioni sociali significative di marginalità, di disagio o di ribellione, com’era quella di Bangkok che l’ha impegnato durante le sue ultime settimane. Con la stessa intensità che aveva messo nel raccontare le favelas di Rio, tra gang e prostituzione, o le facce dure dei farmer sudafricani impoveriti.
Il suo impegno era prima di tutto nel raccontare la realtà, vicina o lontana, nel suo continuo rinnovarsi. Da tempo interessato all’Asia, tre anni fa era corso alla frontiera birmana per seguire la rivolta dei monaci, poi ripiegando su storie di rifugiati politici riparati in Thailandia, che comunque informavano sulla durezza del regime birmano. Informare con la fotografia, con senso giornalistico e ogni cura per la qualità della fotografia ma senza cercare estetismi fine a se stessi.
Fotografo giornalista cresciuto alla scuola delle agenzie parigine, aveva il più ampio orizzonte tematico. Non solo il reportage sociale ma anche occasionalmente quello geografico, la moda, lo sport. Proprio sul mondo dello sport ha lavorato diversi anni ed è rimasto un sogno quello di poterne pubblicare un libro.
Polenghi non inseguiva il facile scoop, non era un avventato. Preparava i suoi lavori con attenzione e senso giornalistico vero. Con tutti stabiliva un rapporto di affettuosa amicizia. Tutti noi che abbiamo lavorato con lui lo ricordiamo così, con i suoi modi gentili, la sua positività e la sua voglia di vivere, malgrado le difficoltà economiche di un mercato che sempre meno gli permetteva di realizzare le storie a cui teneva. Anche per questo aveva lasciato l’Italia decidendo di far base a Bangkok, città che lo attraeva, base operativa privilegiata per un Sud est asiatico tanto instabile quanto pieno di fascino, dunque sempre d’interesse giornalistico. Sperava fosse un buon posto da cui lavorare.

Questo della foto è il sorriso che ricordo e che nessuno di quelli che ha lavorato con Fabio può dimenticare. Il coraggio dell’umiltà, la coerenza di continuare la propria ricerca nonostante le difficoltà, la grande passione che fa superare la paura… un insegnamento prezioso, in tempi davvero difficili.

To arrive at whatever you desire in your daily life you would need backup and the ability to sustain yourself has positive effects. Normally if you’re able to consider some friends to allow them to stimulate, sustain and keep you going to keep progressing then that may be very useful.

As you actually are aware of, to quickly attain any target in your life, it will take a lot of hard work, effort and strength of mind. The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it’ll do even better in those areas, but for now it’s a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod’s strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
